Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks an experienced global business and operations analyst to drive strategic organization wide process improvement focused on our international project operations in over 45 countries. Join a strategic corporate team in designing and implementing processes that foster cross functional collaboration between the home office, corporate departments, and international project teams to ensure cost efficiency, scalability, compliance and quality project outcomes. This position will drive actions that will help transform Abt's global operations, align with Abt's strategic plan and further Abt's ability to increase mission impact.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Document existing business processes, tools and other resources across departments, divisions and international projects.
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for business process improvements with a focus on efficiency, effectiveness and compliance.
  • Use best practices to carry out business process analysis, mapping, re-engineering, change management and measurement activities.
  • Support stakeholder engagement process to identify business requirements, process needs and risks.
  • Develop, document, implement and maintain business processes and procedures to enable successful international project implementation.
  • Ensure that processes result in compliance with US government, local government and client specific regulations and requirements.
  • Develop programs, initiatives and methods for continuous business process improvement.
  • Serve as international operations business process expert for future phases of the development and implementation of new systems and process improvements.
  • Develop detailed project timelines and task estimates, manage project tasks and budgets against plan.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience as a business analyst, project operations analyst, or similar position requiring rigorous design, implementation and management of international business processes and systems
  • Training in business process optimization (e.g. training/certification such as BPM, Lean/Six Sigma or Project Management)
  • Experience with business process tools
  • International development experience with USAID funded projects, preferably in both field and home office positions
  • Experience with project startup and closeout
  • Experience with business processes across all corporate functions (human resources, finance, procurement, information technology, etc.)
  • Experience distilling problem definitions, models, and constraints from informal business requirements
  • Experience communicating and presenting to leadership and other key internal stakeholders
  • Strong client engagement skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS with 5-7 years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience


Due to the COVID-19 crisis, this position will be based as a telecommuter for the foreseeable future. Only when Abt reopens offices to all employees will there be an expectation that new hires return to the geographical office to which they were hired.
