Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Analyst to support the Division of Health and Environment. This position will support a range of behavioral and public health projects.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supports a project team in the collection of public health research data.
  • Collects, compiles, validates, interprets and analyzes qualitative and/or quantitative data and trends using REDCap, SAS, R, or similar software.
  • Conducts review and quality control of data collection instruments in REDCap.
  • Harmonizes data across multiple sources.
  • Assists in developing trainings, standard operating procedures, data quality management plans, and other project documents.
  • Develops charts, graphs and presentations applying intermediate level application skills.
  • Contributes to the development of research protocols, data collection instruments, and IRB packages.
  • Manages communication among multiple research partners.
  • Attends client meetings and synthesizes meeting content.
  • Applies knowledge of resources to review professional journals and publications to extract and summarize relevant information for proposals and research projects.
  • Uses internet-based search techniques to expand knowledge of subject matter, resources and available tools and summarizes findings for review.
  • Coordinates project timeline to ensure key milestones are met.
  • Participates in business development activities by managing proposals, contributing technical content, and/or supporting production and submission.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately complex under indirect supervision where there is latitude for independent action and decision-making; exercises initiative to refer complex non-routine matters.
  • May represent company at to professional association meetings, recruitment gatherings and in-house events.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical and task management skills required
  • Proficiency in REDCap programming, data entry, and database management
  • Data management expertise using SAS and/or Stata and R
  • Writing ability


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA (3 - 5) years of experience OR MA/MBA (Entry Level) years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience


Due to the COVID-19 crisis, this position will be based as a telecommuter for the foreseeable future. Only when Abt reopens offices to all employees will there be an expectation that new hires return to the geographical office to which they were hired.
