Opportunity Abt Associates seeks a qualified Occupational Health Research Associate to join our interdisciplinary team supporting national-level occupational and environmental safety and health programs. Projects encompass support of various occupational safety and health regulations, exposure assessment and modeling, cost estimations for implementing worker safety and health protections, and guidance development on protections for workers in various settings. The successful candidate will conduct research, literature reviews, develop quantitative models, and integrate findings in compelling client reports and guidance documents. The position holder will serve as the primary client contact and translate client needs and/or objectives into specific deliverables. The successful candidate will manage small interdisciplinary teams and direct and manage the planning, design, and implementation of technical project protocols and procedures. Federal government agencies, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency call on us to conduct policy-driven research and evaluate their key programs. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, this position will be based as a telecommuter for the foreseeable future. Only when Abt reopens offices to all employees will there be an expectation that new hires return to the geographical office to which they were hired.
